The use of industrial chemical-cosmetic products often leads to issues regarding skin health, general well-being, and environmental pollution. FUWA Biotech has introduced the Fuwa3e biological cleaning product line, fermented from pineapple peels, with a strong motivation to provide an alternative solution through natural, safe, and effective Eco-Enzymes. The project has contributed to resolving health issues caused by the overuse of industrial chemicals and facilitates the recycling of approximately 300 tons of pineapple peels annually, thereby reducing environmental pollution risks.
Furthermore, the residue after fermentation is utilized as organic fertilizer. The products enable water savings of up to three times compared to industrial counterparts due to their superior cleaning efficiency. Additionally, the project promotes awareness of green consumption through a refill model that helps eliminate 150,000 plastic bottles per year. On the social front, Fuwa3e has created thousands of jobs and improved incomes for distributors, particularly for married women.
FUWA's relentless efforts has been wide recognized through multiple prestigious awards, affirming the company's pioneering role in promoting a circular economy. Each awards is a testament to the positive impacts and concrete guaratee from FUWA to the environment and the public. These notable achievements include:
Climate change, resource depletion, and environmental pollution are exerting heavy pressure on the global economy and the lives of millions. In Vietnam, the situation has become increasingly urgent as many regions struggle with a massive volume of agricultural waste. Thanh Hoa, one of the country's largest pineapple production regions, generates about 50,000 tons of pineapple peels annually, most of which are discarded without being reused or recycled. Processing this vast amount of waste not only puts pressure on waste management systems but also causes water pollution and CO2 emissions, which ultimately affects community health.
In addition, as modern life progresses, the use of industrial chemical cleaners has become a common habit in households. However, many studies have indicated that these detergents are harmful to human health, especially the skin. For regular users, issues such as itching, peeling, dryness, and even contact dermatitis have become quite common. Furthermore, according to UNEP, approximately 1 million tons of chemicals used in the cleaning industry pollute water and soil sources, affecting ecosystems and public health.
Nevertheless, according to a report by Grand View Research, the global green cleaning product market is on a strong growth trajectory, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) expected to reach 11.4% from 2021 to 2028. This trend reflects an increase in consumer awareness regarding health and the environment, alongside a demand for safer products.
Against this backdrop, Fuwa3e has pioneered the utilization of massive pineapple peel sources for fermentation to create cleaning products that clean effectively without harming the skin, minimizing irritation risks while protecting the overall health of the user. Fuwa3e is a pioneering solution that successfully applies the circular economy model to deliver positive social and environmental impacts in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
FUWA’s innovation focuses on developing organic bio-detergent products fermented from pineapple peels based on Eco-Enzyme technology. This is an advanced biological solution created through the fermentation of pineapple peels, sugar, and water. Eco-Enzymes not only possess superior cleaning capabilities but are also entirely plant-based, ensuring safety for both users and the environment. The addition of enzymes in the products enhances cleaning efficiency while making the production process more eco-friendly.
Consequently, FUWA chose Eco-Enzyme as the foundation for all its products. Fuwa3e produces a diverse range of lines including home care, car care, baby care, body care, pet care, etc.
Additionally, Fuwa3e products commit to a "3 NOs" policy: NO artificial colors, NO artificial scents, and NO toxic chemicals; while ensuring a "2 SAFEs" policy: SAFE for consumer health and SAFE for the ecosystem.
The vision of Fuwa3e is to be a pioneer in Vietnam’s Eco-Enzyme biological chemical-cosmetic products and to reach out globally. The company is committed to raising awareness about environmental protection and promoting a sustainable lifestyle for everyone, contributing to a healthy and sustainable future where waste is recycled and maximized, thereby protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for the community.
Fuwa3e set outs to achieve these goals:
2016-2020: Build an eco-friendly product ecosystem and conduct testing with target users
2020-2025: Expand the market and consolidate the position within the bio-detergent industry
2025-2030: Successfully transfer Enzyme technology and enhance production quality through the establishment of a GMP-standard factory
2030 - 2035: Export products globally and establish the Eco-Enzyme LAB system
FUWA3e products provide health protection solutions for families globally, specifically targeting customers facing skin issues like peeling, dryness, and cracking. FUWA products are extracted from natural enzymes and have completed all quality inspections to ensure they do not cause skin irritation, especially for those with sensitive skin. Consumers no longer worry about health issues when using daily cleaning products, thereby creating a safer and healthier lifestyle.
All FUWA cleaning products have achieved OCOP (One Country One Priority Product) certification with 3, 4, and 5-star ratings. These products have helped resolve skin irritation and unpleasant odors common with industrial detergents, providing a safer and more comfortable choice for consumers
The project has created thousands of job opportunities, particularly for married women. This has helped many residents improve their income, stabilise their lives, and enhance female participation in economic activities, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
FUWA utilizes pineapple peels - an agricultural waste - to create useful biological products. This reduces organic waste and the pollution burden caused by industrial chemicals. Users contribute to environmental protection by reducing plastic waste through a bottle reuse system and protecting water and soil sources from toxins.
FUWA can quickly scale up production, with the ability to triple output in just two months.
Rapid market expansion: The market for bio-detergents is growing at approximately 40% annually and is expected to continue for at least 10 years.
Heading towards a global market: FUWA has actively promoted contracts with countries in the EU and collaborated with Amazon to strengthen the Canadian market.
Simple process: The Eco-Enzyme technology involves a simple process that is easy to learn and apply locally without requiring large investments.
Technical Support: FUWA can provide training and technical support for organizations and individuals wishing to adopt this model.
FUWA products are already present in countries like the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Singapore, China, India, and Malaysia
Demand for green products: International markets are increasingly demand eco-friendly products.
Growth Potential: FUWA has the potential to partner with developed agricultural nations to recycle waste into bio-detergents globally.
