RMIT Sustainability: Snap and Sort Plastics

Event overview

As a collaborative effort between RMIT, AIESEC and Unilever, Snap and Sort Plastics aims to provide an opportunity for young people in general, as well as RMIT students, staff, cleaning and food vendors to develop the habit of garbage classification waste at source and contribute to the reduction and recycling of plastic waste, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills.

How to participate

Step 1: Collect And Classify

Sort out plastics by categories at your home or your office (make sure it's clean and dry):

  • Bottles and cans: includes aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles;
  • Clean plastic: includes plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic straws, styrofoam, milk cartons, and snack packages.

 

Step 2: Need A Bag? Contact Us

Contact us to get mesh bags for storing your plastic waste every Monday from 3 pm to 4 pm. Contact us via email at nguyen.dang11@rmit.edu.vn.

 

Step 3: Find Us on Campus

Come to our booth from 9 am - 4 pm from 14th - 16th November at the North Staircase to:

  • Exchange gifts that are equal to the amount of plastic waste you collected;
  • Engage in fun games and activities that instruct on waste classification: Memory game, Kahoot, Roll the Dice, and more.
  • All program participants will receive gifts and gain Green Points.

 

Step 4: Exchange Plastics for Gift

You will have the opportunity to exchange your collected plastic waste for attractive and exclusive gifts from RMIT and Unilever.
