What is Sustainability Impact Challenge?

Take the grit. Own the step. Lead the change.

The Sustainability Impact Challenge (SIC) is a flagship program of the Sustainability Alliance Network - a multi-track sustainability talent incubation program designed to cultivate Vietnam’s next generation of sustainability catalysts accelerators.

Through hands-on learning, structured training, mentorship, and multi-track pathways spanning innovation, strategy, and research, we equip students with the sustainable mindset, capabilities, and real-world exposure to think forward, engage with real-world challenges, and co-create meaningful innovation within our community and beyond.

Vision

SIC aims to empower students to become sustainability catalysts with the readiness to navigate sustainability challenges and innovations within communities.

Mission

  • Strength-based development: Empowering students through multi-track sustainability pathways across innovation, strategy, and research aligned with their strengths and aspirations.
  • Talent pipeline development: Providing a progressive sustainability development pathway, from incubating foundational readiness in SIC to accelerating applied leadership through the Sustainability Ambassador Program (SAP)
  • Future-ready capabilities: Building competencies by working on real-world challenges from industry and impact communities with structured mentoring.
  • Collective Impact Ecosystem: Driving collective sustainability impact through a collaborative alliance connecting universities, industry, and students

Looking back

Last year, RMIT students joined us to crack green business challenges with Bosch, Motul, Panasonic, and Rize. Here are what last year's winning team members have to say:

Innovating for real change at RMIT's Sustainability Impact Challenge

The Sustainability Impact Challenge opened a stage for students, like the winning team HAKTY, to transform classroom knowledge into practical solutions and sharpen their ability to turn ideas into action for more sustainable business.

Co-organisers

Sustainability is not a journey that can be achieved alone. Through SIC, students are empowered not only to strengthen their individual capabilities, but also to learn how to work alongside the communities and partners around them.

Hence, we are more proud to foster a sustainability alliance network between universities and industries that allows individual to gain direct access to mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, industry insights and applied sustainability experiences, transforming individual potential into collective impact for Vietnam’s future.
