With courses that focus on advertising and public relations (PR), this career-oriented degree will train you in creating both traditional and digital content that is informative and compelling.  

Advertisers seek to build the brand of a product or service to change consumer behaviour and PR practitioners look to inform and influence members of the public to build a positive opinion of an issue or organisation. 

With the communications sector increasingly in need of graduates who have a combination of skills in advertising, PR and digital methods, this program will, through up-to-date learning activities, develop your capabilities to confidently step into the workforce.

Learning, teaching and assessment

  • RMIT Vietnam focuses on student-centred learning, which puts you and your learning needs at the centre of our teaching practice. Teaching methods include face-to-face delivery, tutorial classes, workshops and industry seminars. Studio courses present a practical approach to learning where you’ll undertake project work based on real-world briefs and case studies
  • To add to your learning resources, RMIT has partnered with renowned marketing communications agencies to create Vietnamese market case studies. Giving you an edge, these studies provide insight into the local market, local consumers and the domestic media environment
  • You'll be assessed in a variety of ways to ensure that you can demonstrate your skills across the range of areas required for a communication graduate. Expect a combination of examinations, assignments, presentations and project work. Assessment may be both individual, or conducted in groups

The program has been designed to prepare you to work in professional communication in an international context. You will demonstrate a collaborative and professionally informed approach to your work.

As a graduate of this program, you will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse and apply a diverse and industry relevant body of knowledge and skills to the field of media and communications in a global context.
  2. Plan, produce and evaluate innovative content, optimizing uses of technology that meets the needs of diverse stakeholders in an international environment

  2. Program fees are priced and invoiced in Vietnam Dong (VND).
  3. Payment in other currencies will be converted to VND at the exchange rate on that day. Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment.
  4. The fees in USD are ONLY applicable to those international students who arrange for payment from overseas, as per Circular No. 32/2013/TT-NHNN.

  • Vietnamese Upper Secondary School (High School) Graduation Diploma with a minimum GPA of 7.0/10.0 for Grade 12 (For other international qualifications please view entry requirements by country​

Academic pathway

English requirements

Successfully complete RMIT Vietnam English Advanced, or complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
  • TOEFL iBT 79 (with minimum score of 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) 58 (no communication band below 50)
  • C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)) or C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)) 176 (no less than 169 in any component)

Previous study and proficiency tests are recognised for two years from the completion date or test date to the program commencement date unless stated otherwise.

Where you have achieved more than one form of English language proficiency only the most relevant achievement will be considered in the admission decision.
