Results from courses taken at the host university will be transferred to RMIT Vietnam*, based on your approved study plan(s) and the official transcript sent directly from the host institution to RMIT. These results do not carry weighted grades.
*The transfer of grades and credits will be subject to the applicable Credit Transfer policy and program structure at the time of results being transferred back to RMIT Vietnam after the exchange program concludes.
Follow these steps to complete and submit your study plan for the Partner exchange or Short-term program.
Step 1: Check your remaining courses at RMIT Vietnam
Go to myRMIT → Enrolment tile → Enrol in my Program and check what courses you can take for the exchange program. They should be courses that you have not completed and have not planned to study at RMIT Vietnam until the exchange semester.
It is recommended that you save your University Electives to broaden your options of what you can study whilst on exchange and make the process of getting a study plan approved further down the track a lot easier.
Step 2: Search and select courses at the partner university
Browse your allocated host institution’s website via Mobi Outbound page to search for courses on offer to exchange students that match your RMIT Vietnam courses.
To have your study plan assessed, you are required to provide course details or syllabi along with source links for all courses you propose to study at the host institution. These course details must include the following components:
- Course code: Partner institution’s course code is different from RMIT Vietnam’s course code.
- Course learning outcomes: Skills, knowledge and application achieved from learning this course.
- Course content: Topics and activities covered in the course.
- Volume of learning: The number of in-class hours per week and the number of teaching weeks per semester.
- Assessment approach: Assignments? Examinations? Other assessment criteria.
- Pre-requisites: Course requirements need to be fulfilled prior to the exchange semester.
In case the host institution has not yet released course guides, you can research based on courses offered in the previous year. If you require additional information from partner institutions, please contact Global Experience Office.
Students are required to meet the minimum full-time load per exchange semester from both RMIT and host institutions. For RMIT, it is 36-48 credit points, and for host institutions, please check the Credit Equivalency section of host institutions on Mobi Outbound page. You can provide 6 to 8 courses to ensure you have sufficient back-up options.
Step 3: Fill in Study Plan form(s) and Course Guide template
If you are going to exchange for two semesters, you must include proposed courses for both semesters in your study plan. You are also required to submit separate study plans for each of your exchange partner preferences.
Step 4: Submit your Study Plan(s) and Course Guides
Study Plans must be submitted through Student Connect Online Portal following the timeline on Exchange to partners worldwide or Global short programs.
Provide your enquiry details, including exchange program name, and duration of semesters, exchange program, host institution, and semester(s).
The processing time of the Study Plan is 20 working days (excluding public holidays and weekends) from the date you submit all completed documents in the accurate format.
