Established in 1887, RMIT University is a multi-sector university of technology, design and enterprise with more than 95,000 students and close to 10,000 staff globally. The University’s mission is to help shape the world through research, innovation, quality teaching and engagement, and to create transformative experiences for students, getting them ready for life and work.
In 1998, RMIT University was invited by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to open a university in Ho Chi Minh City as a result of the strong links in education and research which had been established since 1992. The University was awarded the investment license in 2000, making RMIT the first fully-foreign university in Vietnam.
RMIT Vietnam has a world-class reputation for excellence in higher education, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Communication, Design, Technology and Languages. It is Australia’s largest university campus overseas, and the country’s biggest service investment in Vietnam. This coming year RMIT will become the largest overseas branch campus of any university internationally.
Since our inception 20 years ago, RMIT has been committed to supporting Vietnam’s economic priorities. Our ultimate success as an international university operating in Vietnam is best measured by the impact we have had for the past 20 years on our graduates, and through them, the local communities and the country.
