Security personnel have the authority to monitor, verify, and stop any activities that do not comply with the guidelines outlined below:
2. Photography location
Graduation photography and filming are allowed only in SGS campus in the following areas:
- Pathways between all buildings
- Lawns
- Outdoor sports fields/courts
- Building halls (must not enter classrooms or disrupt other activities)
- REC lobby (must not disrupt other users)
- Food court areas outside Building 1 and Building 2 (SGS Campus)
Please note: Photography must not obstruct pathways, entrances, or facilities essential for academic and administrative operations.
3. Approved photography/filming period: 1-10 April 2026
- Morning session: 8am - 1pm
- Afternoon session: 1pm - 6pm
Students are required to attend and complete their photography within their registered session.
The University does not guarantee exclusive access to any location or uninterrupted photography conditions.
4. Purpose of photography/filming
Authorisation applies exclusively to photoshoots with RMIT graduation gowns.
The use of graduation gowns and other graduation-related props should reflect the authentic spirit of the occasion.
Unauthorised gatherings and commercial photography sessions will not be allowed. Security personnel have the authority to check and stop activities that violate the purpose of the shoot.
5. Restrictions on external photographers
- Only individuals with valid RMIT student cards or Alumni cards are permitted on campus
- External photographers or any external individuals are not allowed.
6. Respect for campus experience
- Photography must not obstruct pathways, entrances, or facilities essential for academic and administrative operations.
- Photography is prohibited in emergency exit stairwell area.
- Drones and other aerial photography equipment are not permitted.
- Photography or filming of any other individual is strictly prohibited without their permission and consent. Non-consenting individuals should not be identifiable in any of the images.
- The use of extensive filming equipment, loud music, excessive noise, or activities that may disrupt campus operations is not allowed.
