RMIT proudly supports International Women’s Day (IWD), which is globally celebrated on 8 March each year.

This year, RMIT Vietnam celebrates Women's Day 2025 under the UN Women’s theme March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls.

This theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation – youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls – as catalysts for lasting change.

Together, we can be the generation to close the gap to achieve gender equality.

'The Right to Education' puzzle

From 4 March until gift stocks run out, spot a hidden name in a library-themed photo to reveal the first woman to earn a university degree on RMIT University Vietnam's Facebook page. Submit your answer via form/QR code, and get your well-deserved gift.

'Breaking Workplace Barriers' quiz

Join a short quiz on women leadership and discover how inspiring women are breaking workplace barriers on RMIT University Vietnam's Facebook page. Get ready to join the quiz from 5 March until gift stocks run out, and score well to claim your gift.

On-campus events

Stay tuned for a whole week of women empowering and inspirational activties at AB2 lawn (SGS campus) and Innovation Hub (Hanoi campus, Room 1.1.B004).

Photo backdrop and Message wall (3 to 8 March)

From 3 to 8 March, join in the celebrate on campus by taking photos at the International Women's Day 2025 backdrop, and leave a heartfelt message to any women out there at the dedicated Message wall.

International Women's Day Seminar (6 March)

This is an opportunity to come together as a research community and celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness and showcase research on gender equality in Vietnam. The event will begin with inspiring talks from women across the three themes of STEM, Business and Creativity. The discussion will highlight the importance of inclusive transdisciplinary perspectives as well as collaboration across government, industry and the community. We encourage both staff and students to join us for this Women's Day event.

Library celebrates IWD 2025 (7-8 March)
