Defer a payment

RMIT has strict payment and enrolment deadlines. However, we also understand that there may be exceptional cases that make it appropriate for a payment plan to be approved.

Such support is available for continuing students who are suffering unexpected short-term financial hardship.

Payment extension applications must be submitted before the Payment Date (Friday Week 3).

Section A – Eligibility criteria

(All Criteria must be met in order to be eligible for a payment extension)

  • You are not in your first semester at RMIT University Vietnam
  • You have less than five million VND in unpaid debt from previous semesters
  • You can evidence exceptional circumstances that have affected your ability to pay in the short term.
  • You can evidence the ability to make full payment within no more than 45 days from the Payment Date (Friday week 3 of a semester).
  • You have met previous approved payment extension deadlines.

Note: 

  • Block mode teaching: students need to evidence the ability to make full payment within no more than 14 days from the payment deadline of the block mode.
  • Intensive PostGrad: please email student.billing@rmit.edu.vn for more information.

Section B – Payment extension application

To apply for an extension, you will need to supply us with the following documentation:

  • Completed Application to Defer Payment (PDF 140KB, p2) form outlining your student ID, extension date and the reasons for your request.
  • Proof of capacity to pay, such as payslips, term deposit or bank statements or letter of finance guarantee.

Please submit your application to student.billing@rmit.edu.vn before the Payment Date.

Conditions for extensions

  1. Incomplete or late applications will not be assessed.
  2. You will be notified of the outcome via your RMIT student email account.
  3. If your application is unsuccessful, you will be required to make payment in full by the Payment Date or you will otherwise be withdrawn from courses and placed on administrative Cancellation.
  4. If your application is successful and you fail to make payment in accordance with the terms of the extension, your program will be cancelled from next semester.
