Your journey starts here: Get career ready at RMIT

Want to graduate with more than just a degree? The new RMIT Career Ready Award is designed to help you build real-world experience, develop key employability skills, and gain confidence about your future career while you study.

Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students at RMIT Vietnam’s Hanoi and Saigon South campuses, the RMIT Career Ready Award helps you explore career opportunities early and turn your university experiences into skills you can showcase to employers.

The Career Ready Award guides you through a range of activities that help prepare you for the world of work. You can gain credit for experiences such as volunteering, internships, competitions, part-time work, and career workshops/events. Along the way, you’ll also reflect on what you’ve learned so you can clearly communicate your skills in job applications and interviews.

The program has three tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold, which you can complete gradually throughout your degree. In total, the award involves about 100 hours of activities, but you might already be doing things that count like working part-time, volunteering, or participating in student projects.

As you progress, you’ll also receive recognition for your achievements. Students who complete the full program receive a Certificate of Achievement, a digital badge to showcase on LinkedIn and other platforms, and an invitation to the end-of-year award ceremony. Each tier also comes with additional benefits, including exclusive networking opportunities and, at the Gold level, a professional recommendation or executive job shadow experience.

While the award doesn’t guarantee a job, it can help you feel more prepared and confident when applying for roles, attending interviews, or building your professional network.

You can join the Career Ready Award at any stage of your degree, but starting early gives you more time to explore opportunities and build your experience.
