Update your personal details

If you have recently received an email from RMIT asking you to review or update your address, you are required to do so.   

Even if you are still living at the same address, your address may still need updating due to recent changes in Vietnam’s provincial and local administrative structure.   

If you are unsure, please log in to myRMIT to review your address, or contact Student Connect for support. 

Keeping your address up to date is important because it: 

• Ensures your student records are accurate 
• Helps RMIT contact you when needed 
• Supports administrative and regulatory reporting requirements, including compliance with government data standards. 

All students are responsible for maintaining accurate personal information during their studies. 

Students with Vietnamese addresses should ensure their address details reflect the latest administrative structure, as Vietnam has recently updated its provincial and local administrative boundaries (e.g., provinces, cities, and wards). 

If any update is required, you will receive a notification from RMIT via email with instructions. 

You may continue to receive Vietnamese address update emails even if your address appears correct. This can happen for several reasons: 

1. Your address may still be recorded under the previous administrative structure 

Your address may look correct, but it may still be stored in the system using the old structure (e.g., including districts that are no longer used). 

Example: 

• Old: Tan Hung Ward – District 7 – Ho Chi Minh City 
• Current: Tan Hung Ward – Ho Chi Minh City 

2. Your location is correct, but the administrative details are outdated 

You may still be living at the same place, but the ward, district, or province information in your record may not reflect the latest Vietnamese address structure. 

3. Your changes were not saved successfully 

You may have reviewed or updated your address but did not complete the final Save/Confirm step. 

4. Only one address type has been updated 

You are required to review both Home Address and Mailing Address. 

If one is still outdated, you may continue to receive reminders. 

5. You updated your address recently 

Notifications are processed in batches. You may still receive an email if your update was made shortly before the notification was sent. 

6. Your address may need further review 

Your address may include: 

• Extra or unnecessary details 
• Abbreviations or incomplete information 
• Unsupported characters or formatting issues 

These may prevent the system from recognizing your address as updated. 

What should I do? 

If you receive an address update email: 

• Log in to myRMIT 
• Review both your Home address and Mailing address 
• Update any required details and click Save 

If you believe your address is already correct but continue to receive notifications, please contact Student Connect or reply to the email reminder from the Enrolments & Student Records team for further support.

If your address is outdated or inaccurate: 

• RMIT may not be able to contact you when needed. 
• Your student record may be incomplete or inconsistent with current administrative requirements. 
• Your information may not align with official government records used for regulatory reporting in Vietnam. 

Please ensure your address details are accurate and up to date to avoid any issues with your student record. 

Yes. All students are responsible for ensuring their address details remain accurate and up to date. 

If you are currently living overseas, please update your address to reflect your current residence. 

If you have a Vietnamese address recorded in myRMIT, you should review it to ensure it reflects the latest administrative structure in Vietnam. If your Vietnamese address is outdated, please update it accordingly. 

Keeping your address up to date helps ensure RMIT can contact you when needed and maintain accurate student records. 

Yes. Students awaiting graduation are still required to keep their address details up to date to support graduation-related processes, official documentation, and regulatory reporting requirements. 

Updates made with other organizations are not automatically reflected in RMIT systems. 

To ensure your student record is accurate, you need to update your address directly on myRMIT. 

Before updating your address, you should: 

• Check your correct ward and province using official sources (e.g. VNeID)   
• Prepare your full address details (house number, street, ward, city/province)  

This will help you complete the update quickly and accurately. 

You can check your address using official sources such as: 

• The VNeID application 
• Local government announcements (e.g. from your ward or city) 
• Other official government websites or notices on administrative changes 

These sources will help you confirm your correct province/city and ward information under the latest structure.

Please update both address types based on their purpose: 

• Home address: your permanent residence (địa chỉ thường trú) 
• Mailing address: your current place of living (địa chỉ tạm trú), where you can be contacted 

If your permanent and current addresses are the same, you can enter the same address for both. 

Please ensure that all address details follow the latest administrative structure in Vietnam. 

• Log in to myRMIT 
• Review your current address details (Home & Mailing addresses) 
• Update any incorrect or outdated information. 
• Save and confirm your changes;

Your address update in myRMIT is usually saved immediately after you click Save.
