Student onboarding modules

RMIT students are required to complete modules as part of their studies at RMIT Vietnam.

Starting at RMIT Vietnam is an important and exciting moment and we're committed to providing you with the information, support and resources you need to succeed from day one.

We aim to create a safe place for students and staff, where everyone feels included, respected and supported.

That’s why, all higher education students at RMIT's Vietnam campuses are required to complete a free, self-paced online module called Consent First.

About the modules

Consent First: Understanding Healthy Sex and Relationships

Mandatory
Approx. 45 minutes

Consent First is an engaging online module, that uses film and interactive quizzes to explore topics associated with sex education, relationships and consent. It also offers helpful tips on how to support someone who has experienced sexual harm or violence. Students may pause and resume the module and can access emotional support through Safer Community.

Academic Integrity Awareness

Highly recommended
Approx. 30 minutes

Academic Integrity is essential to your studies. It’s the ability to demonstrate integrity, honesty, and fairness in your studies.

We encourage all RMIT students to complete the Academic Integrity Awareness digital credential.

This is the best way to understand what academic integrity is, how to maintain it, your responsibilities, and how to protect yourself from accidental breaches.

Completing Consent First: Understanding Healthy Healthy Sex and Relationships

By June 22, 2026, if you are new or continuing Higher Education undergraduate students, the modules will be automatically added to your Canvas. Find and complete it via your Canvas dashboard (login required).

Continuing Higher Education undergraduate students who have not completed Consent First, please ensure that you come back to the Canvas dashboard and complete it as soon as possible by the end of 2026.

You must complete the modules by the end of your first semester or teaching period. Some students who haven’t completed the modules by this deadline will be blocked from adding to their enrolment.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Among three onboarding modules, Consent First is mandatory while Academic Integrity Awareness and How2RMIT are strongly recommended for students

Three onboarding modules are located on the Dashboard page within your Canvas environment. Consent First will be automatically enrolled and available on your Canvas.

You’ll know you’ve successfully completed the modules when you reach the confirmation of completion page at the end of each.

You don’t have to notify anyone at the University that you’ve completed your modules.

Each module has different completion requirements.

Consent First requires you to pass 80% of the final quiz (4/5 correct answers) in either English or Vietnamese version to complete the module.

Academic Integrity Awareness requires you to get full marks (15/15 correct answers) to complete the module.

It’s highly recommended for undergraduate students to do all three modules. However, only the Consent First module is mandatory.

If you do not complete Consent First before the next semester or teaching period, you won’t be able to add to your enrolment.

The Consent First module provides learning content associated with sexual consent, sexual harm, assault and gender-based violence. RMIT acknowledges that some students may find the content in this module distressing. You can explore an opt out option or contact Safer Community for support (safercommunityvn@rmit.edu.vn).
