Appropriate level insurance coverage is essential for your time in Vietnam.  As an international student with a student visa, medical insurance is compulsory to ensure your health, safety and well-being while studying at RMIT University Vietnam.

RMIT University Vietnam will arrange suitable medical insurance on behalf of the student. The insurance fee at 247USD (or 5,700,000 VND each semester) is included in the tuition fee invoice per semester.

Notice

  1. The insurance arrangement by RMIT University Vietnam only applies to students enrolling in the respective semester.
    • RMIT University Vietnam’s insurance arrangement will not cover for students who take Leave of Absence (LOA).
    • In the LOA period, if a student wants RMIT University Vietnam's support in arranging medical insurance, please email international.students@rmit.edu.vn
  2. The following students are exempted from RMIT insurance package
    • International students from RMIT Melbourne (Cross Campus);
    • Full degree students with the nationality of Sweden, Norway and Belgium
    • International students in English programs.
  3. The medical insurance fee is included in the tuition fee (flat-rate) for international students under the study abroad program. No additional fee required.

Insurance Waiver

Only international students (or have a spouse/ parent) who hold a Vietnam work permit, or residency permit, or one of the following visa type: NG1, NG2, NG3, NG4, LV1, LV2, ĐT, DN, NN1, NN2, NN3, PV1, PV2, TT, LĐ; and can arrange insurance by themselves. If you are in this group, you are eligible to apply for waiver.

When you choose to arrange your medical insurance for a semester, please follow steps below closely:

  1. Fill in the Insurance Waiver Screening Form and submit all the documents required in the form before the commencing day of the semester.
  2. An email notifying your application status, whether “Rejected” or “Approved”, will be sent to your RMIT student email within three working days.
  3. If your application is approved, you will be required to submit a hand-signed Insurance Waiver Form to the email international.students@rmit.edu.vn to complete the process.  

When your waiver is approved, RMIT University Vietnam will not arrange your health insurance from the applied semester onward until notified otherwise.
