Cultural connections for sustainable fashion futures: rebuild, renew, regenerate

From 13-17 April 2026, this event will explore the transformative power of cultural diversity in shaping sustainable fashion. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions and hands-on workshops, we will uncover new approaches to sustainability, inspired by the rich traditions and innovations of communities worldwide.

Join us as we connect, collaborate and drive the future of sustainable fashion.

Note

We have now standardised the schedule so that all presentations are allocated 20 minutes, followed by extended discussion time to support more in‑depth conversations. We found that 10 minutes did not allow most presenters sufficient time to share their research and findings. If your own presentation runs slightly shorter than 20 minutes, you are very welcome to keep it concise.

All presentation, workshop and cultural activities are being updated gradually on the app. You will be able to view them in the next few days.

Keynote panel discussion

As a part of the 28th IFFTI Annual Conference hosted by RMIT University Vietnam, this keynote panel discussion offers a multi-angle approach to the future of fashion in Vietnam.

Rebuild, Renew, Regenerate: Fashion at the intersection of culture, community and commerce

How do we rebuild, renew and regenerate fashion systems so they work for communities and culture, not just commerce?

The panel will explore how place-based practices, responsible media, and reconfigured supply chains can help reshape the systems that underpin the industry.

The theme weaves together cultural heritage with contemporary approaches to address the challenges posed by the planetary poly-crisis entangled with the fashion industry.
