The Creative Short Talks (CST) initiative, established in 2021 is part of the Design Studies (DS) program, offering a dynamic platform for guest industry talks within the School of Communication & Design. We invite local and international speakers from diverse creative disciplines and cultural backgrounds to share their journeys, insights, expertise, and stories.
We encourage open dialogue among students, faculty, and industry professionals to spark genuine connections, share ideas, and learn from each other. This fosters meaningful relationships that lead to valuable collaboration opportunities. The CST series provides an informal atmosphere for conversation and networking. Our guest talks serve as starting points for work-integrated learning (WIL) projects, industry partnerships, and internships. This approach enhances the understanding of the industry for both students and staff, preparing us to be Ready for Life and Work by improving knowledge and employability in a relatable way.
In just four years, CST has hosted over 30 talks, engaging students and staff from Saigon and Hanoi across various programs within the School of Communication & Design (SCD). The series has featured a diverse range of speakers from a wide range of fields, including graphic design, branding and advertising, marketing, illustration, animation, UI/UX and immersive design, product design, sustainability, fashion, textiles, game design, VFX, architecture, and spatial design, representing 15 different nationalities.
