Student audio-visual competition

As a part of the 28th IFFTI Annual Conference hosted by RMIT University Vietnam, this competition encourages diverse approaches to the theme and welcomes participation of students from all disciplines.

Competition theme

Cultural connections for sustainable fashion futures: rebuild, renew, regenerate

The theme weaves together cultural heritage with contemporary approaches to address the challenges posed by the planetary poly-crisis entangled with the fashion industry.

It aims to inspire a drastic transformation beyond conventional sustainable practices. Emphasising the significance of cultural connections, the theme urges participants to tap into the rich tapestry of local traditions and community dynamics from diverse societies to cultivate flourishing new fashion landscapes.

At the core of this theme is the need to envision and implement new fashion systems that encompass alternative approaches to production, use, and recirculation. This requires active collaboration by industry stakeholders, academic institutions and communities to develop strategies tailored to specific locations.
