Close ties with industry

The School of Communication & Design works closely with our industry partners to ensure our program content is up-to-date and aligned with the needs of future employers. We also collaborate with industry experts through guest lectures, special projects, case studies, and internships.

All undergraduate programs in the School offer an exciting three-month Flagship Internship which takes advantage of our strong industry connections, and provides placements in various sectors including advertising, public relations, media, design, and fashion. Our graduates develop a unique skill set - based on industry trends - making them more likely to excel in their careers.

Information for industry professionals

There are a number of ways that business and industry professionals and organisations can partner with RMIT, including collaborative projects, research, awards, scholarships and student resources. For more information please visit the RMIT Business and Industry website.

Information for students

Students interested in working with an industry partner while studying can visit the RMIT Student Site for further information, including finding a placement, any necessary requirements and in-depth details of the process.
From experience, we find that RMIT students are very proactive when it comes to their work. They have a good command of the English language, which enables them to communicate not only their ideas, but also understand tasks and creative ideas and briefs that are given to them. We particularly value RMIT students for their international outlook, passion and enthusiasm; they jump straight into the tasks and challenges that they are presented with.
