Khoa Trong Nguyen is a diasporic Vietnamese screen practitioner and academic. He currently teaches in the Digital Film & Video Program at RMIT Vietnam. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from UCLA and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Cinema- TV from USC. He has written and directed 2 feature films and has had a screenplay produced into a feature film in Vietnam. He has nearly twenty years of experience working in the Vietnamese film industry as a Writer/Director/Producer and has co-founded three production companies.
Khoa has worked as an academic and manager for the past 14 years at RMIT Vietnam where he has developed and mentored the next generation of Vietnamese filmmakers and storytellers. His screen practice research centers around the diasporic Vietnamese identity, dialogic cosmopolitanism, disruptive places and spaces, and telling stories that wouldn't otherwise be told.
