Eligibility to apply

Transferring to RMIT Melbourne as an RMIT Vietnam students helps you to bridge the gap between local and international study environments. 

If you have already proven your study capacity by successfully completing courses at RMIT in Vietnam, you will also benefit from simpler application requirements and processes for transferring to Melbourne.

Note: Transfer students from RMIT Vietnam are waived with AU$100 application fee.

* Transfer applications are subject to approval based on course availability in Melbourne and the Australian government's policy on international students.

 * Please be aware that entry is not guaranteed and the number of credits transferred might be affected if you transfer to a different program other than your previous study at RMIT Vietnam.

RMIT Vietnam current students can apply to transfer to RMIT Melbourne to study and complete your undergraduate program. 

Please be aware that the number of credits transferred might be affected if you transfer to a different program other than your previous study at RMIT Vietnam.

You are required to:

  • be currently enrolled in an RMIT Vietnam Bachelor program and making satisfactory academic progress;
  • successfully complete at least 24 credit points by the time of transfer with no double fail in a single course;
  • have at least 36 credit points remaining in the degree program before transferring*;
  • achieve an overall GPA of 1.0 (out of 4.0) at the time of application**.

* Students of the Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) (BP354) are required to have at least 72 credits remaining to complete in Melbourne. BP354 has been discontinued in Melbourne and will be taught out as to 2027. Therefore, transfer applications to BP354 in Melbourne will be assessed case by case.

** Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) (Honours) (BH120) in Melbourne is currently available for the March intake and first two-year students only, who complete no more than 192 credits in BH120 in Vietnam campus by the time of transfer. BH120 students who complete more than 192 credits in Vietnam campus by the time of transfer may also consider transfer to the Bachelor of Software Engineering (BP096) (or other engineering programs of your interest). Please note that the credit transfer will be limited, and we would recommend students not to take many courses in Vietnam before transferring. The exact number of credits exempted will be decided by the school and included in the offer, after the transfer application is submitted.

*** Some programs may have pre-selection requirements.

RMIT Vietnam current Master students or current Graduate Certificate students can apply to transfer and complete your degree at RMIT Melbourne. 
Mode of study at RMIT Melbourne: full-time.

You are required to:

  • be currently enrolled in an RMIT Vietnam Masters program and making satisfactory academic progress;
  • successfully complete at least 24 credit points by the time of transfer with no double fail in a single course;
  • have at least three 36 credit points remaining in the degree programs before transferring;
  • achieve a program GPA of 1.0 (out of 4.0) at the time of application

Current Graduate Certificate students are required to successfully complete your Graduate Certificate program with a GPA of 1.0 or above, with no double fail in a single course at the time of application.

Possible programs to transfer are:

Fails leading to the repetition of required courses as part of your degrees or the previous refusal of a visa may cause delay in the application process or affect the application results.
