Overview

Luke McLachlan was a lecturer at RMIT Vietnam. He was a truly global citizen and an inspiration to those planning a future in global business. A scholarship is offered in his honour, exclusively for prospective students. This scholarship is awarded to the applicant who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance in high school, accompanied by relevant achievements, and will be enrolling in the Bachelor of Business with a primary major in Global Business.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of Vietnam;
  • Have completed high school with a minimum grade 12 GPA of 8.5/ 10.0; or IB diploma with a minimum of 33 points in total; or GCE ‘A’ Levels (UK) of minimum 11 points for three Advanced subjects (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1), or equivalent;
  • Have IELTS (Academic) 6.5+ (no band below 6.0) or equivalent. For other international English entry requirements, please view the English equivalency requirements (links to Australian website);
  • Have applied for admission to the Bachelor of Business program with Global Business as primary major, and meet the program entry requirements (conditional offer may be considered);
  • Be commencing study in the respective Bachelor’s degree program in a semester in 2024*;
  • Be able to demonstrate relevant experience or achievements that might relate broadly or specifically to global business or indicative of the applicants’ potential success in Global Business major. 

* If successful, the scholarship will only apply from semester 3 2024 (October 2024).

Note: Once accepted, this scholarship cannot be transferred to another degree program and major.

Scholarship application requirements

You are required to provide the following in your Scholarship Application Form:

A digital portfolio, limited to a maximum of five (05) pages, demonstrating your relevant experience or achievements that might relate broadly or specifically to global business or indicative of your potential success in Global Business major. These may include:

  • Contributions to communities
  • Application of technology
  • A significant project that you have participated

Note: All supporting documents must be in English and combined in one file in .pdf format and smaller than 16 MB.

Selection criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on merit and take into account past academic performance and strength of the digital portfolio.

Past academic performance is weighted as follows: 60% Year 12 GPA + 30% Year 11 GPA + 10% Year 10 GPA.
