AVPI policy briefing: Smart and Sustainable Cities in Vietnam: trends, challenges, and opportunities 

Vietnam has experienced rapid urbanisation in the past three decades. While urbanisation has supported economic growth, challenges have also arisen, such as infrastructure capacity limits and environmental degradation.

Vietnam is adopting smart cities initiatives in 41 of 63 of its provinces and municipal cities.

Call for submission​

We invite abstract submissions for a special issue of Urban Policy and Research on urbanisation in Vietnam. This issue will spotlight emerging research and policy challenges shaping Vietnam’s urban future, with regional context. Researchers working on smart cities, housing, climate resilience, transport, governance, and planning are encouraged to apply.
