She has also supervised undergraduate research projects and postgraduate dissertations.

Her teaching encourages students to think critically, question assumptions and apply what they learn to real-world communication challenges. Drawing on her experience in programme leadership and curriculum development, she places particular emphasis on connecting academic learning with professional practice.

Her contribution to the student experience was recognised with the "I Love My Staff" Award from Coventry University Students' Union.

Research interests

Ekaterina's research examines how place and culture shape brand meaning, particularly in digital advertising. Her current work focuses on localness in Vietnamese digital advertising, building on her broader interests in place branding and marketing communications.

She is also interested in the role of generative AI in advertising and brand communication.
