Dr. Agnieszka Kiejziewicz, SFHEA, PhD
– holds a PhD in the Arts and Humanities (with an emphasis on Film and Media) from the Jagiellonian University in Poland; the author of academic publications and monographs. She is the author of over fifty peer-reviewed articles concerning audiovisual art, media art, Asian film, media, culture, digital art, games. For the past few years, she has been working at RMIT Vietnam, developing Virtual Reality and holographic display-based projects. She is particularly interested in connections between body and nature and human perception of the connection to nature in technology-driven surroundings.

My recent research examines plants as technologically mediated beings within biomedia, digital art, games, and gamified environments. It asks how sensors, interfaces, data, AI, telematic systems, and playful interaction reshape human–plant relations, turning care, observation, and ecological attention into aesthetic, ethical, and existential encounters. Across projects such as digitally mediated micro-environments and plant-based installations, I explore plants not as ornaments but as more-than-human participants in systems of meaning, surveillance, intimacy, displacement, and planetary vulnerability. My work engages posthuman ethics, vegetal agency, existential phenomenology, and environmental thought to question how technology produces both closeness and control. By connecting biomedia with game design and gamified surroundings, I investigate how playful systems can make ecological relations more perceivable, while also exposing the risks of instrumentalising non-human life within the digital Anthropocene.
