Vietnam’s higher education is undergoing rapid transformation, marked by greater institutional openness, digital integration, and collaboration. University libraries are key players in this shift, supporting teaching, learning, and research. However, challenges such as fragmented resources, limited information sharing, and uneven development highlight the urgent need for stronger inter-library connectivity and sustainable cooperation. In response, RMIT Vietnam Library is organizing the seminar "Collaborative Libraries: Finding Solutions Together", aiming to foster a nationwide network of academic libraries committed to sharing experiences, resources, and innovative solutions to improve service quality and academic support.
The seminar will host around 200 delegates, including library directors, senior librarians and academic leaders from across Vietnam and internationally. Featuring speakers from Thailand, Singapore, Tra Vinh University, and RMIT Melbourne, the event offers global insights into successful collaboration and modern library development. Expected outcomes include stronger awareness of the benefits of inter-library cooperation, practical technological and service model solutions suited to Vietnam’s academic context, as well as the formation of partnership agreements. This seminar seeks to drive the evolution of a connected, innovative library community aligned with both national educational goals and global academic standards.
