Foundation Studies is chosen by students all over the world as their pathway to higher education at RMIT.
With a curriculum comparable in standard to an Australian year 12 curriculum, Foundation Studies gives you a seamless pathway to your university journey. You will study the subjects that align with your interests and study goals, gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence you need for future academic success.

Foundation Studies is delivered by RMIT Training (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a company owned by RMIT University.
*Note: Foundation Studies is comparable to an Australian year 12 curriculum. Completion of this program does not result in a Vietnamese high school diploma.

RMIT Training’s Foundation Studies meets the requirements for Foundation Programs which have been registered on CRICOS in Australia. The curriculum is comparable in standard to an Australian year 12 curriculum.
Foundation Studies is delivered over two semesters (one year). You will study four subjects per semester with 20 hours of scheduled study per week.
The Foundation Studies curriculum encourages you to explore new ideas and consider your own place and purpose in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.
Assessments are designed to connect learning with current real-world scenarios and can be structured as written or oral, and as independent or group activities.
Our learning activities promote engagement and are designed to build your confidence to think critically and creatively, to reason and to solve problems.
These are highly valuable and transferable employability skills required in all career paths.

The School of English & University Pathways has a unique interactive class format, with the same learning and teaching approach and additional unique aspects specifically for online and blended classes. This gives flexibility to your learning with a mix of self-led and teacher-led activities.
It is very important that you attend all your classes and maintain satisfactory attendance while you are studying Foundation Studies at RMIT Vietnam. This means ideally attending all your classes.
If you cannot attend class, you should have proof of why you cannot attend. For example, if you are sick you should go to the doctor and get a medical certificate. You should submit a scanned copy of your medical certificate via email to the Foundation Studies email account.
Medical certificates must include the date/s that you did not attend class. Medical certificates do not cancel your absences but will help if you need to explain your attendance situation to the Program Assessment Board at the end of the semester.
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies program with minimum required grades in your chosen stream, you will be able to progress to an approved undergraduate program at RMIT in Vietnam or Australia.

Previous study and proficiency tests are recognised for two years from the completion date or test date to the program commencement date unless stated otherwise.
Where you have achieved more than one form of English language proficiency only the most relevant achievement will be considered in the admission decision.
