The cluster conducts world-class research on economic and financial issues in both emerging and developed countries. We also organise several research activities such as PhD symposia, international conferences and research seminars for academics and PhD students from Vietnam and around the world.
The research cluster is focused on enhancing innovative approaches to pedagogy and organizational learning across different industries, sectors and geographies. Its main remit is to support the development of competencies both in the classroom and in real-world businesses, examining the different facets of knowledge generation and transfer, together with dimensions of organizational learning, resilience and capabilities. The cluster seeks to translate research activities into outcomes that further understand and best practice into learning and teaching in Higher Education, as well as supporting the development of critical knowledge to the benefit of organizations and their employees.
This cluster studies the use of information and communication technologies and other digital technologies in the context of public policymaking, smart government services, security and privacy, engagement, interaction and design, and private sector decision making. The focus of smart transformation, in our research cluster, is on people-centric transformation.
The cluster focuses on applied multidisciplinary research that uses information, modelling, and analytics to develop integrated logistics solutions and improve sustainable supply chain networks. Due to its location in the Asia-Pacific Region, the cluster prioritises investigating supply chain challenges presented by the globalisation and technology advance in Vietnam's interconnected social, environmental, and economic dimensions. We aim to achieve sustained production of high-quality peer-reviewed research, attract internal and external funding, and promote research-based postgraduate students in the field.
RMIT Vietnam’s Tourism & Hospitality Research Cluster addresses high-impact issues in the fields of travel, tourism, and hospitality through an interdisciplinary, synergistic, and collegial approach to the scholarly pursuit of knowledge and its subsequent dissemination and application to the resolution of real-world problems. The Cluster’s main areas of focus are the development of predictive models of tourist behavior, the impact of culture on tourist behavior, sustainable tourism and sustainable tourism development, and tourism teaching and learning, especially at the tertiary level. Due to its privileged geographic location, RMIT Vietnam’s Tourism & Hospitality Research Cluster specializes in tourism and hospitality research in the Asia-Pacific Region, with special emphases in Southeast Asia and Vietnam.
The Sustainable Development Research Cluster focuses on three sustainable development goals (SDGs) which are good health & wellbeing, climate action, and the partnerships for the goals, respectively. The cluster works in collaboration with the Business School’s Smart Cities Hub and has been successful in securing projects that address these SDGs. Research projects include the five-year European Union Urban GreenUP Horizon 2020 project (2017-2023), an Erasmus Plus project WANASEA from Nantes University, France (2017-2021), the Vietnamese Ministry of Science & Technology National Foundation for Science & Technology (NAFOSTED) and many more are used to provide the recommendations for promoting social inclusion and innovation in related topics. Ongoing PhD projects, (attached to the cluster) include improving the efficiency of urban wastewater management – case study of Ha Noi city, Vietnam and crisis management strategy in an emerging market, the case of the food and beverage industry in Vietnam.
