Jodie Altan is the Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor, Engagement.
Jodie Altan has had an extensive career spanning over 30 years, with a strong focus on student recruitment within large, complex universities.
Throughout her career, Jodie has had responsibility for student recruitment, enquiries and conversion, admissions, and marketing, making her proficient in understanding the entire student lifecycle, from initial interest to post-graduation engagement.
With a passion for helping students navigate their educational journey, Jodie has immersed herself in all aspects of student life, including serving as Deputy College Head at Monash Residential Services.
Jodie was also the Director, Student Recruitment at Monash University where she had experience in both international and domestic student recruitment including offshore campuses (Monash Malaysia) and pathway programs. Following this she joined RMIT University as Director, Global Student Recruitment, where she enjoyed the opportunity to work in a multi-sector University in the heart of Melbourne. During the 6 years in this role, Jodie oversaw a wide range of diverse activities, such as, introducing a new admissions system, overseeing Open Days, aligning domestic and international functions, setting up the conversion team and establishing teams in India and beyond.
In the position of Associate PVC, Engagement at RMIT Vietnam, Jodie oversees externally focused functions and activities contributing to the University’s reputation, brand and recruitment needs.
Outside of work, Jodie enjoys spending quality time with her husband Gokhan, their 12-year-old son Isaac, and their dogs, Harriet and Rocket. Currently residing in Ho Chi Minh City, they are actively exploring the city's vibrant culture and sampling its cuisine.
