About

Dr Nguyen Quynh Phuong is a Lecturer in Management at RMIT University Vietnam. Her work sits at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, design thinking, technology adoption, and educational transformation.

 

With professional experience spanning Vietnam, Thailand, India, and the United Kingdom, Dr Phuong brings a multidisciplinary perspective that bridges academia, international development, industry engagement, and public policy. Prior to joining RMIT, she worked in higher education and international development roles across Asia and Europe.

 

At RMIT Vietnam, Dr Phuong teaches undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, and executive education programs. She is particularly passionate about experiential learning, industry-engaged education, and the responsible use of emerging technologies to enhance student learning and critical thinking.

Teaching interests

Dr Phuong serves as Course Coordinator for two cornerstone courses at RMIT Vietnam: Business in Society, a foundation course in the Bachelor of Business program, and Design Thinking for Business, a foundation course in the MBA program.

 

In these roles, she leads curriculum development, assessment design, teaching team coordination, and learning innovation across undergraduate and postgraduate education. Her work focuses on creating engaging, industry-connected learning experiences that develop students' critical thinking, ethical awareness, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.

 

Her teaching portfolio spans undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, and executive education programs. She is particularly passionate about experiential learning, design thinking, sustainability, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to enhance student learning and reflective practice.

 

Dr Phuong has led and contributed to a range of learning and teaching innovation initiatives. In recognition of these contributions, she received the RMIT Vietnam Learning & Teaching Award (Team Award) in 2024. She is also the recipient of an Education Innovation Grant supporting research and innovation in AI-enabled learning and teaching practice.

 

Executive Education and Industry Engagement

In addition to her academic teaching, Dr Phuong has extensive experience designing and delivering executive education and professional development programs for corporate, government, and professional audiences across Asia.

 

Over the course of her career, she has worked with executives, managers, and professionals from organisations in Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and other countries in the region. Her executive education portfolio spans topics including sustainability, responsible business, innovation, design thinking, leadership, international business, and organisational transformation.

 

Drawing on experience across academia, international development, and industry engagement, Dr Phuong is committed to helping organisations translate strategic concepts into practical action and measurable impact.

Research interests

Dr Phuong's research explores how organisations and communities respond to sustainability, social inclusion, and technological change. Her work spans responsible business, digital transformation, gender equality and inclusion, technology adoption, and higher education innovation.

 

She is actively involved in international research collaborations and applied research projects that seek to generate both scholarly and societal impact. Her current projects include research on STEM education, gender-responsive educational practices, public–private partnerships in education, and AI-supported learning.

 

Dr Phuong's research has informed collaborations with government agencies, educational institutions, NGOs, and industry partners across the Asia-Pacific region. Through both research and teaching, she seeks to bridge academic knowledge and practical action to address complex societal challenges.
