RMIT Vietnam named one of Best Companies to Work for in Asia in 2025

RMIT University Vietnam has once again been recognised as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia by HR Asia, reaffirming its commitment to creating a workplace that values people, fosters innovation, and drives impact.

This marks another milestone in RMIT’s journey as a leading employer in the region, coinciding with the University’s 25th anniversary in Vietnam.

The Best Companies to Work for in Asia awards celebrate organisations with outstanding employee engagement, workplace culture, and HR practices across the region. According to HR Asia, the high-profile nature of these awards attracts applications from Fortune 500 companies, as well as multinational corporations and government-linked companies.

With the theme ‘Multi-generation Synergy’, this year’s award program attracted 655 nominations in Vietnam, resulting in 119 winners.

RMIT Vietnam stood out in a wide range of assessment criteria. The University’s average scores exceeded market benchmarks in nearly every category, with outstanding results recorded for culture and ethics, and active initiatives.

The results showed strong alignment between leadership and staff, with high scores in areas such as open communication, flexibility, recognition, and wellbeing.

Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside, Pro Vice-Chancellor and General Director of RMIT Vietnam, said:

“As we celebrate 25 years of RMIT Vietnam, this recognition is a powerful reminder that our people are at the heart of everything we do. From our earliest days, we’ve believed that investing in our staff through meaningful work, professional development, and a supportive culture is key to creating lasting impact.

“This award reflects our ongoing commitment to being a great place for our people to work, thrive, and shape the future together.”

Throughout its 25-year journey, RMIT Vietnam has grown from a pioneering initiative of Australia-Vietnam education cooperation to Vietnam’s leading international university, with 1,300 staff and over 12,000 students. The University’s people-first approach has been central to its success, enabling it to deliver world-class education, drive innovation, and contribute meaningfully to Vietnam’s development.

This is the fourth time RMIT Vietnam has received the HR Asia award, having previously won in 2020, 2023, and 2024, making it the first university in the country to achieve this distinction multiple times.
