RMIT Vietnam wins Golden Dragon Award for the 22nd time

RMIT University Vietnam has been named a winner of the Golden Dragon Awards 2026, marking its 22nd recognition from one of Vietnam’s longest-running award programs for foreign-invested enterprises.

Held by the Vietnam Economic Times since 2001, the Golden Dragon Awards have become a trusted benchmark within Vietnam’s foreign-invested business community. The program honours organisations that demonstrate strong operational performance, innovation, and achievements in digital transformation, green growth, and sustainable development.

RMIT University Vietnam is among a small number of education providers to have been consistently recognised by the Golden Dragon Awards. Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside, Pro Vice-Chancellor and General Director of RMIT University Vietnam, said the repeat recognition reflects the University’s strong standing in Vietnam.

“We see ourselves as a co-creator of the future of higher education,” he said. “Our goal is to support Vietnam’s ambition to become a knowledge-based economy, by equipping students and communities with the confidence and abilities to be ready for what’s next.”

Since its establishment in 2000, RMIT Vietnam has delivered internationally accredited programs to more than 28,500 graduates, helping to develop a globally capable workforce across a wide range of sectors. The University continues to work closely with industry, government, and community partners to ensure teaching and learning remain relevant to Vietnam’s evolving economic priorities.

Alongside its established reputation in teaching, RMIT Vietnam is strengthening its research capability to support Vietnam’s next stage of development. In 2025, the University announced a AU$25 million investment in research and innovation. This initiative will expand its PhD programs, create new scholarships, and deepen collaborative research between Vietnam and Australia.

With more than two and a half decades of operation in Vietnam, RMIT University Vietnam continues to deliver internationally recognised education while deepening its contribution through research and partnerships. The University’s 22nd Golden Dragon Award reflects its sustained engagement in Vietnam’s higher education sector and its long-term commitment to the country.
