RMIT Vietnam Library Seminar 2025: Collaborative libraries and finding solutions together

On August 15, 2025, RMIT Vietnam Library hosted its annual Library Seminar at the Saigon South campus under the theme “Collaborative Libraries: Finding Solutions Together."

The event gathered more than 130 participants, including library directors, researchers, academic leaders, and librarians from across 44 organisations from Vietnam and abroad, creating a dynamic forum to explore the power of collaboration in higher education. 

Expanding knowledge through collaboration

The seminar focused on practical solutions to strengthen cooperation across academic libraries. Key areas of discussion included digital innovation, resource sharing, research partnerships, and regional initiatives. With the participation of international experts from Singapore Management University (Singapore), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), Tra Vinh University (Vietnam), and RMIT Melbourne (Australia), the event offered both global perspectives and local insights.

  • From Local Knowledge to Shared Authority: Regional Collaboration for Inclusive Cataloging in Southeast Asia –Professor Songphan Choemprayong (Chulalongkorn University)
  • How Joint Training Initiatives Strengthen Academic Library Partnerships – Mr Phuc Trinh & Ms Thy Tran (RMIT Vietnam)

Two vibrant discussion sessions allowed participants to exchange practical experiences, address challenges, and propose innovative approaches for libraries navigating the rapidly changing higher education landscape. 

Commitment for the future

The 2025 Library Seminar reaffirmed RMIT Vietnam Library’s commitment to advancing collaboration, fostering innovation, and building sustainable partnerships across the region. By connecting local and international voices, the event highlighted the shared mission of academic libraries: to empower teaching, learning, and research while shaping a more connected and inclusive knowledge community.
