Visa guidelines

Guideline

Depending on your nationality and length of travel, you may not need to obtain a visa to enter Vietnam. Please check with your country’s foreign ministry’s website or contact your country's embassy / consulate closest to your place of residence to verify the full requirements concerning visas.

You may apply for either a Tourist Visa or a Business Visa to enter Vietnam.

A Business Visa is not required to attend the conference unless your institution specifically mandates it. A Tourist Visa typically involves a shorter processing time and fewer documentation requirements.

Most foreigners visiting Vietnam, either under Tourist or Business Visa, are eligible for electronic visa (e-Visa). Please find the instructions and apply for your e-visa here: https://evisa.gov.vn

Currently, an invitation letter is NOT required to apply for a business e-visa to Vietnam, regardless of nationality.

However, if an invitation letter is requested under special circumstances, please follow the procedure outlined in the "Invitation letter procedure" sectionto obtain one.

As the timeline for obtaining a visa varies according to the country, we encourage you to submit your request (if needed), as soon as possible.

  • Register and complete full payment to the Conference
  • Write an email to iffti@rmit.edu.vn, requesting an invitation letter.
  • Note: Please provide all necessary details that should be included in your invitation letter. If your local embassy or consulate requires a specific template, kindly share it with us so we can ensure your letter meets their requirements.
  • Once we receive your participant fee, registration form and requesting email, your Invitation Letter will be processed and sent to you via email. Please be noted that this might take up to 15 working days (Vietnam time, UTC/GMT+07:00)

Beware of fake websites

There is only one official website for e-visa by the Vietnam government at: https://evisa.gov.vn

Official government websites in Vietnam always end with:.gov.vn

Important notes

  • Your letter will only be processed after your payment is fulfilled and your registration form is submitted.
  • Urgent cases are upon our availability. We are not responsible for any delay or failure in getting visas due to insufficient processing time.
