From ambition to impact: Vu Khang Thanh’s sustainable leadership powered by MBA scholarship

Vu Khang Thanh is the archetype of the leader the RMIT MBA Scholarship seeks to recognise: guided by long‑term vision, values‑driven, and committed to creating positive community impact alongside generating profit.

After five years of living and studying in Australia, he returned to Vietnam with the ambition to build businesses that not only succeed commercially but also deliver value to the community. He began his career at EY‑Parthenon as a management consultant, where he honed critical thinking and leadership skills. He then founded two distribution companies in pharmaceuticals and consumer goods, operating effectively in a complex regulatory environment and volatile markets with agility and integrity.

His early entrepreneurial success, together with a strong commitment to professional ethics and sustainable development, has made him an outstanding candidate for the RMIT MBA Scholarship. Vu Khang Thanh’s story clearly illustrates the core values the RMIT scholarship upholds: academic excellence, leadership potential, and a deep aspiration to contribute to society.

I believe the RMIT MBA is a powerful catalyst for the positive impact I am striving towards.

His goals align closely with the MBA programme’s direction: developing adaptable leaders with a global mindset who are ready to thrive in the digital age. He expects to leverage the industry‑connected curriculum and extensive alumni network to expand market reach, grow his businesses, and build strategic partnerships in Vietnam and France, where his companies are operating.

Beyond personal success, he aims to contribute to the academic community. He plans to be a frequent guest speaker for the RMIT community, bringing real operational lessons - from cashflow management to coordinating activities in the pharmaceutical sector - into classroom discussions so peers can learn from current, relevant challenges.

His spirit of support and community connection is long‑standing. In Australia, he co‑founded the United Associations of Vietnamese Students in NSW (UAVS‑NSW Inc.). In Vietnam, he continues to sponsor student clubs and speak at leading universities.

Congratulations to Vu Khang Thanh on this well‑deserved scholarship. RMIT is proud to welcome him to the MBA community and looks forward to his contributions in class, industry, and beyond.
