Benjamin Cabanes is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at RMIT University, based at the Ho Chi Minh City campus in Vietnam. He is also an associated researcher at the Centre de Gestion Scientifique (CGS) of Mines Paris – PSL, France.
His research interests lie at the intersection of innovation management, science-based entrepreneurship, and design engineering. His work has been published in leading international journals such as Research Policy, European Management Review, Research in Engineering Design, and IEEE Engineering Management Review. He also contributes regularly to professional outlets including LSE Business Review, Harvard Business Review France, Forbes, The Conversation, and Polytechnique Insights.
Prior to RMIT, Benjamin served as a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Mines Paris – PSL University, where he founded and led the Advanced Master in Deep Tech Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Concurrently, he was an Adjunct Lecturer in Innovation Management at École Polytechnique, France, and previously headed the Department of Industrial Engineering at École des Ponts. He has also taught in executive education programs, including EMBA and Executive Master courses at HEC Paris, École Polytechnique, and Université Paris Dauphine – PSL.
Benjamin holds an MScEng in Aerospace Engineering from ESTACA–ISAE (2012), a PhD in Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation from Mines Paris – PSL (2017), and a Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) in Management and Social Sciences from École Polytechnique, Institut Polytechnique de Paris (2025).
