RMIT Alumni relations go digital

RMIT Alumni relations go digital

As the COVID-19 pandemic has forced campuses to transform seamlessly from physical to digital learning, it is time to look at the significant digital transformation of alumni engagement in the near future.

Initiated by RMIT Alumni, RMIT Alumni Network is an unique digital platform in Vietnam that creates opportunities for RMIT alumni to use technology to grow both their local and global business networks. Through the platform, they can search, view and connect with each other on an individual basis.

Since its launch in March 2021, RMIT Alumni Network has featured nearly 900 individual and business profiles. RMIT alumni profiles are from entry to senior levels across 18 industries including Financial and Insurance Services, Education and Training, Information Media and Telecommunications, Arts and Recreation Services, and Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

RMIT Vietnam Alumni Relations Manager Pham Huu Hoang said the platform is accessible for all RMIT alumni without geographic limitations.

“Through the platform, RMIT alumni can meet like-minded professionals and reach more people than ever before, especially for those alumni who studied in RMIT overseas campuses and returned home to look for community re-integration,” Mr Hoang said.

“With more than 4,000 RMIT alumni holding managerial positions across the country, we hope that the high-quality network could foster business collaboration and transform the alumni experience in the digital age.”

M—N Associates CEO & Creative Director and RMIT alumnus Nguyen Bao Anh Duy valued the benefits of the platform to the RMIT alumni community.

‘I'm honoured to join the platform specifically designed to support alumni connection even years after graduation,” Mr Duy added. “It opens up new opportunities and enables us to know more about other alumni who have similar interests and career aspirations.”

Agilead Global CoFounder and CEO and RMIT alumnus Duong Trong Tan said that the use of digital media has become increasingly important to boost alumni engagement.

“It is such a helpful platform that enables us (alumni) to navigate our daily lives with as much normality as possible where social distancing requires many of us to spend much more time online,” Mr Tan said.

“It is time to rethink the traditional in-person engagement strategies and boost alumni engagement through digital, while digital transformation is changing the business world.”
