Tom Huynh, M.Sc., is an Associate Lecturer at RMIT University Vietnam and a PhD Candidate at RMIT Melbourne. With a strong academic foundation in Artificial Intelligence (M.Sc., UNSW; B.Sc., University of Melbourne), he has built an interdisciplinary career spanning academia, industry, and research.
His expertise lies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Health Informatics, with publications in top-tier Q1 journals, including works cited by the World Health Organization. Tom’s recent research explores the transformative potential of large language models in healthcare, nursing, geriatrics, and infectious disease modelling.
Alongside his academic contributions, he has secured competitive funding as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on projects that apply AI for healthcare transformation, medical documentation, aviation training, and authentic learning in software engineering.
Tom also brings leadership and industry experience as a former Director of Machine Learning at CoderSchool and Head of Web Development at Weboptimizers (Australia). His work bridges theory and practice, advancing AI applications while contributing to teaching, innovation, and policy consultation in the field.
