The Centre for Business and Emerging Technologies (CBET) is RMIT's first research centre located outside of Australia. CBET will drive innovation, inclusivity and sustainability in the digital economy across Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

The primary objective of this project is to construct actionable policies to enhance smart and sustainable city initiatives in Vietnam. These policy-guidelines will be benchmarked from global standards and aligned with Vietnam’s national objectives.

This project aims to adapt and refine the STEMsmart CPD Model and gather evidence of the effectiveness and scalability of the Adapted STEM smart CPD Model in enhancing ECE teachers' competencies, well-being, and agency.​

This background paper examines land use and management challenges in the Mekong region, exploring the "Land for Life" concept and its implications for sustainable development and livelihoods​

Project Lead: Bob Baulch

This project is funded by The University of Stirling. It examines how we can make life better for farmed fish in Asia. The goal is to produce practical tips and best practices that farmers can use, so we can have a more humane and sustainable way of raising fish across Asia​

Project Lead: Chung Phan

This program is designed to raise awareness of cyber security and cyber safety issues for Vietnamese SMEs and tackle the organisational, technological, and cultural context of the Vietnamese business sector. ​

Project Lead: Hiep Pham

This program aims to enhance Australia’s international Cyber Engagement and utilise Australian expertise in Cyber & Critical Technology to uplift the capability of our nation’s closest neighbours. This is part of Australia’s commitment to deliver on the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The program is designed to raise awareness of cyber security and cyber safety issues for Vietnamese SMEs, and it aims to tackle the organisational, technological and cultural context of the Vietnam business sector. ​

Project Lead: Hiep Pham

This initiative aims deepen RMIT’s relationships in the Vietnam Cyber Security Sector by working with the key industry association (VNISA) to accelerate the growth of startups in the cyber security sector by providing market access and fostering collaboration with industry and researchers. It positions RMIT Vietnam as a pivotal hub for cyber security innovation in Southeast Asia.

The project focuses on implementing smart quality management systems in supply chains to enhance sustainability, addressing challenges and opportunities for the garment industry through innovative and sustainable practices.

The project aims to develop a Smart Agriculture Monitoring and Analytics (SAMA) system using Web-GIS technology to optimize agricultural practices and promote sustainability in the Mekong Delta region.

Project Lead: Hiep Pham, Huy Truong Quang

The project contains three chapters, with chapter 1 discussing the development of monetary technologies throughout history, monetary policies under each monetary regime standard. Chapter 2 discusses the potential challenges and opportunities of adopting cryptocurrencies as legal tender. Chapter 3 conceptualises the difference between the monetary issuance of proof of work and proof of stake consensus rules and their potential implications for money concentration, monetary policy and economic growth.​

Project Lead: Binh Nguyen

The project developed a blockchain-enabled carbon trading platform that enables transparent and efficient marketing and trading of carbon credits among stakeholders​ beyond Vietnam. The project also provided an in-depth analysis of the carbon market context in Vietnam, government regulations, and planning. Research on global and regional carbon markets and emission trading schemes (ETS) has also been conducted to explore the potential of connecting Vietnam's ETS with the rest of the world. The team has also worked to ensure the participation of diverse stakeholders in the pilot, including forest farmers, potential businesses, government and non-government agencies, and other technology solution providers that measure carbon sink and credits.
