RMIT continues to rise in global rankings

RMIT has ranked 190th in the latest QS World University Rankings consolidating its reputation as a global leader in education and research.

The rise into the world’s Top 200 is an increase of 16 places from last year and 110 places since 2015.

The University is also now ranked 11th in Australia, up from 14th position last year.

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Alec Cameron said he was delighted that the results continued to recognise RMIT’s reputation for quality education, research and collaboration.

“Our research is making a real and positive difference to the communities we are part of.

"These results are testament to impact of that research and the wonderful work of our academics and the wider RMIT community.”

The results are in line with RMIT’s strong results across other major rankings schemas in 2022.

The University was recently ranked number three in the world and second in Australia in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for its commitment to reducing inequality within and among countries (SDG 10) and fifth globally and first in Australia for promoting decent work and economic growth (SDG 8).

RMIT also had 10 subject areas ranked in the top 100 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, including a standout result for the University’s Art and Design offering, which maintained its number one spot in Australia, second in the Asia-Pacific and 15th globally

QS World University Rankings have been published since 2004, with 1,422 institutions ranked this year compared to 800 in 2014.
