RMIT Experience Day shifts to online

RMIT’s Experience Day will be hosted virtually for the first time - providing prospective students and their parents with an immersive online introduction to the University.

Since 2015, Experience Day has attracted thousands of high school students and parents in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City each year.

This year’s Online Experience Day series is scheduled for 7, 8, 14 and 15 November and is open to students and parents from across Vietnam and overseas.

Participants will have access to a range of interactive workshops and information sessions to get a taste of what it’s like to study at RMIT.

Previously, Experience Day was held separately for business, creative, and technology programs.

This year, the University has adapted to host the event entirely online and provide a unique experience for participants, combining all programs for one series of virtual experience days.

RMIT Director, Global Marketing Regional Hubs Ms Jan Clohessy said that “as a leader in technology education, RMIT has pioneered online teaching in line with the Industry 4.0 era.

“Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has successfully delivered hundreds of online courses for its students globally,” she said.

“The Online Experience Day series will again showcase our leading position in education and our ability to stay ahead of future online education trends, while broadening access to a much bigger audience of prospective students who are eager to find out more about RMIT.”

The Experience Day aims to help students understand themselves better and gain an insight into different industries and professions. From there, they can make an informed decision as to which career to pursue and university to enroll in.

Participants can choose from 22 online workshops depending on their area of interest.

For example, students attending the International Business workshop can explore the entire journey of a typical consumer product.

Prospective students interested in Information Technology can attend the Build your own webpage workshop, where they will be introduced to web design languages and create a webpage of their own.

At the Digital Media Design workshop Snap it like a pro, students can learn how to turn their smartphones into the ultimate photographer's toolkit.

All workshops will be delivered by experienced RMIT lecturers in English, where students can learn more about different courses and have their questions answered live.

In addition to the interactive workshops, participants can join information sessions focusing on business, creative and technology study programs, and engage in panel discussions about career prospects with industry experts.

The panel discussions will welcome reputable guest speakers, including: Director of the movie ‘Rom’, Tran Thanh Huy; Founder and CEO of TRG International, Rick Yvanovich; Managing Director of ClickMedia, Nguyen Hai Ha; Business Partner and Development Manager of Microsoft, Le Duc Trung; and Managing Director of Consulus Vietnam, Helena Pham Thi Thu Hang.

news-3-rmit-experience-day-shifts-to-online The online mode will allow for a much bigger audience of prospective students who are eager to find out more about RMIT.

To better prepare students for university life, RMIT will also organise online talks with current students and alumni within the event. Prospective students can listen to authentic experiences of studying in a multicultural environment; making friends with international students; and building relationships with industry professionals.

Students looking to take their studies abroad can talk with representatives from RMIT in Australia to learn more about the opportunity to transfer to Melbourne or go on exchange programs at over 200 partner universities across the world.

The RMIT Online Experience Day will take place from 9.30am to 5.00pm on two weekends in November: 7-8 and 14-15 With this schedule, each participant can attend maximum five activities per day.
