RMIT launches Hanoi business alumni chapter

RMIT Vietnam continues to create connections for alumni with the launch of a chapter for the School of Business and Management in Hanoi.

The chapter, established in late April 2017, will create a network in which alumni can share and exchange information to enhance skills and career development.

Speaking at an event to mark the launch, Head of School of Business and Management Associate Professor Mathews Nkhoma, said, “It’s clear that a degree from RMIT can take you anywhere. But no matter where you are, the alumni chapter wants to make sure your degree has value for a lifetime and you never have to leave the world-class RMIT community behind.”

In order to support the progress of the chapter, Associate Professor Nkhoma said the School of Business and Management would assign a staff member to act as a mentor and as a point of contact between the chapter and the University.

The alumni chapter’s executive board will contain the posts of President, Vice President and Secretary. The chapter’s inaugural President is 2015 Bachelor of Commerce graduate Le Thanh Thuy, who is currently working for property and entertainment company Sun Group.

Also speaking at the launch, Thuy outlined a set of ambitious goals for the chapter including boosting career development, organising networking events, and becoming a trusted conduit of important information for alumni.

“The RMIT Business alumni chapter will provide alumni all relevant information from businesses about job opportunities. We will be a kind of Google for all RMIT School of Business and Management alumni. You ask any questions, we will answer.”
