Four prominent leaders in Vietnam, three of whom were awarded honorary doctorates in the 2017 RMIT Vietnam graduation ceremonies, drew from their wealth of experience to advise new graduates on the road ahead.
Mr Nguyen Xuan Vang
Mr Vang’s nearly 40 years of dedication and contribution to education have been recognised through prestigious awards, honorary degrees, and titles from Australia, China, Brazil, Italy, Laos, New Zealand, the EU, and Vietnam.
The above quote was based on his experience while working at Hanoi University. He was President for two terms (2000-2008) and made outstanding contributions to change Hanoi University of Foreign Studies to Hanoi University in 2006. Hanoi University was the first Vietnamese university to offer full curricula in English from 2002.

Madame Ton Nu Thi Ninh
Madame Ton Nu Thi Ninh is The President of Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Foundation; Vice President of Vietnam Peace Committee; Former Ambassador of Vietnam to the EU and Belgium; and Former Vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Vietnam National Assembly.
Today, as a much sought after public speaker and advocate on diverse socio-cultural, educational and international topics both in and outside Vietnam, she continues to pursue her lifelong commitment to Vietnam’s sustainable development and integration with the world.

Mr Don Lam
Mr Don Lam is one of Vietnam’s top authorities on investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and privatisations.
Seeking a way to give back to the community, in 2007 Mr Lam set up the VinaCapital Foundation which has a mission to empower the children and youth of Vietnam by providing opportunities for growth through health and education projects. Over the past ten years, the Foundation has provided lifesaving surgeries for nearly 6000 children in Vietnam, equipped hospitals and clinics with essential emergency equipment, trained thousands of medical professionals, and provided scholarships to people with ethnic minority backgrounds.

Ms Christy Le
Ms Christy Le was the CFO and COO of Misfit, from the company’s founding until its acquisition by Fossil. Misfit made a number of award-winning wearable and smart home products including Shine and Ray, both activity and sleep monitors, and Bolt, a smart light bulb.
Ms Le urged graduates to strive, seek, find and not yield in everything they do.
