Chau Chan Quyen, the Creative Director behind the viral marketing campaign Dien May Xanh and the newly-appointed leader of the chapter, believes that by growing and staying together, the Alumni Chapter will generate a lot of opportunities for its members.

“Networking plays an essential part in creating opportunities for all members and supporting them in their career paths,” Quyen said.

“The initial activities might be more relaxed, such as gathering and doing a Tipsy art painting workshop. We will then get feedback and develop more appropriate activities.”

Ms Manuela Spiga, RMIT Vietnam Senior Manager Careers and Industry Relations, said the Communication and Design Alumni Chapter – together with other five alumni chapters – was launched as a result of alumni feedback.

“Alumni are interested in connecting with people who took the same courses and share common interests,” Ms Spiga said.

“In the past, the University organised events for alumni to attend. But now, alumni and the University will work together to bring about activities that are of interest and of use for their own sake.

“This is a step in making alumni relations more sustainable.”
