Ogilvy Fellowship leads to exciting job offers

Three fourths of RMIT Vietnam students have landed job offers after participating in the Ogilvy Fellowship, a program which allowed them to experience different disciplines in a leading integrated communications group in Vietnam.

"Not only do I feel proud when working at one of the the leading communications agencies, I feel very lucky for myself,” said Vo Thi Diem Trang, a Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) student who was offered a position at Geometry Global Vietnam.

“I feel I deserve it for my time and effort. I am also appreciative to come back here. "

The other students who were offered positions at Ogilvy include five Professional Communication students: Nguyen Ngoc Phu, Nguyen Thien Huong, Nguyen Vu Huong Mai,  Tran Quang Hoang Long, and Bui Nguyen Thieu Mai.

Another Bachelor of Business (Marketing) student was also selected: Pham Phuoc Nghia.

Reflecting on his reaction to receiving the job offer, Pham Phuoc Nghia said he went through a range of emotions.

"At first, I was eager and excited that my effort had been recognised,” Nghia said.

“Then, I was nervous and wondered what working life would be like later on.

"No matter what, I feel proud of myself."

Thanks to the Fellowship, the students will already be familiar with working at Ogilvy where they had to complete various projects and work according to standards set by the industry giant.

"Working at one of the industry's leading agencies gives us a chance to experience a professional environment, working on interesting projects, and receiving lots of mentoring and training from our talented-but-friendly boss," said Trang.

Trang said she was able to form strong relationships during her time in the Ogilvy Fellowship Program.

"As I have already worked with most of the people at Geometry for about one month, I feel like I'm coming back to my home," Trang said of the job offer.

"Furthermore, the Ogilvy Fellowship Program provides us a chance to broaden our eyes, exploring different aspects of agency life and creating more relationships."

Nghia credited his experiences during the Ogilvy Fellowship as the major influence behind his achievements.

"It's like a bridge connecting students and firms,” Nghia explained.

“Students are equipped with real-life experiences.

“Whether you are offered [a job] or not, you will know yourself more after the program.

“I am thankful and do appreciate the chance that the Ogilvy Fellowship has brought to me."
