Experiencing a creative future at RMIT

Almost 3000 potential students and their parents visited RMIT Vietnam’s campuses at Saigon South and Hanoi over the past week to explore careers in communication, design, and fashion.

Professor Rick Bennett, Head of the Centre of Communication & Design welcomed students and parents to Creative Experience Day and the Transparent Showcase—an exhibition of student work that included designs and displays using Augmented Reality (AR).

Augmented Reality is one way that RMIT keeps up-to-date with the latest industry trends. “AR can be used by the fashion industry so clients can view a collection in an innovative way,” said Senior Educator Victoria Eskdale.

Tran Hoang Tong enjoyed the AR exhibition in Hanoi. “I only needed a smartphone and I could see the 3D simulation model of Thanh Giong and the famous Battle of Bach Dang River. It was very interesting,” he said.

Both campuses hosted workshops showcasing communication, design and fashion. Hoang Nguyen Nhat Vi travelled from Dong Nai province to be the first in line for the photography workshop in HCMC. “I’m very impressed by the angles and lighting styles,” Vi said. “I hope to come to RMIT to study and find out more.”
