RMIT English Worldwide Placement Test

All applications must be submitted with an English proficiency test result unless the student has studied at an institution where English is the medium of instruction.

When English for University (EU) programs are required for entry into a program, the number of weeks of EU study is determined by RMIT (based on IELTS, TOEFL score) and/or RMIT English Worldwide (REW) based on a Placement Test.

If the student does not have proof of English proficiency, they must undertake the REW Placement Test. The test ensures that the student’s level of English is correctly assessed and that the student is offered the correct duration of English study.

This test assesses your speaking, writing, grammar, and listening skills to decide which course level is right for you, and will best help you achieve the test result you are aiming for.

English placement test results are valid for six months. If you have already taken an IELTS or TOEFL test, you don’t need to take a placement test if your IELTS/TOEFL certificate is less than two years old. Please contact a Student Recruitment Consultant for further details.
