The Livebrary 2026 - RMIT Alumni Impact Showcase opens a new chapter by recognising RMIT alumni who are continuing and growing their family businesses.

Background

Around the world, every family business begins with a spark. In Vietnam and beyond, a new generation is finding its place around that fire - carrying forward not only a business, but also the values, responsibility, and legacy behind it.

Following the success of The Livebrary 2025, which featured more than 100 alumni stories, The Livebrary 2026 - RMIT Alumni Impact Showcase opens a new chapter by recognising RMIT alumni who are continuing and growing their family businesses.  Whether your family business is big or small, whether you're leading from the front, supporting behind the scenes, or still discovering your role, your story matters.

This year's showcase is proudly supported by the Family Business Club (FBC) – a community of RMIT alumni who are carrying forward their family businesses. Through shared experiences, peer learning, and meaningful connections, FBC fosters sustainable growth across generations. Their partnership helps amplify stories of succession, innovation, and long-term business stewardship within the RMIT alumni community.

Purpose

The Livebrary 2026 - RMIT Alumni Impact Showcase is designed to preserve and share stories of succession, responsibility, and the ambition to build upon a family legacy across generations.

Through the stories shared, the showcase aims to:

  • Honour the first generation by recognising the vision, risks, and sacrifices that built the first flame.
  • Celebrate the people behind the journey - employees, partners, customers, and family members whose support has kept the business thriving across generations.
  • Recognise the next generation's role in renewing, evolving, and carrying the family business forward in their own way.
  • Highlight the broader impact that family businesses create for livelihoods, communities, and Vietnam's future.
  • Foster a sense of belonging by connecting RMIT alumni who share the unique responsibility of carrying forward a family legacy.
