More than 340 final-year students from RMIT Vietnam’s IT and Engineering programs presented real-world innovation, technical expertise, and career-ready solutions at the 2025 IT & Engineering Capstone Showcase.

Held across RMIT Vietnam’s Hanoi and Saigon South campuses, the event brought together 75 student teams, more than 40 industry partners, and dozens of academic mentors for a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and collaboration.  

The showcase demonstrated the strength of RMIT’s academic programs and the University’s deep integration with Vietnam’s growing innovation ecosystem. Hanoi campus showcase: Innovation with impact

In Hanoi, the showcase featured ten projects across a diverse range of technical domains, from AI-based educational tools to browser extensions tailored for Vietnamese users.

Students engaged directly with industry representatives and partners including Cốc Cốc, VMO, Drinkizz, PlatoScience, and RMIT Careers, Alumni & Industry Relations.

The Best Capstone Award for IT and Software Engineering was awarded to AlgoRhythm for their project SocratesCode: AI-Powered Socratic Tutor for Programming.

"This recognition means a lot to us and reflects the hard work, passion, and collaboration we poured into our project. The showcase was an incredible opportunity to connect with industry professionals, gain valuable feedback, and celebrate innovation with our peers", said Tran Gia Hung from the AlgoRhythm team.

The ISAL team won both the Runner-up Award and the People’s Choice Award for their project focusing on developing a browser extension for Cốc Cốc, Vietnam’s leading local web browser. Saigon South campus showcase: Scale, innovation, and global reach

The Saigon South campus hosted RMIT’s largest-ever Capstone Showcase this year, featuring 65 project teams and over 300 students across four Engineering and IT programs.

Students were guided by 42 academic supervisors and supported by 29 companies and partners, including global and national industry leaders such as ABB, Bosch Rexroth, Drinkizz, Viettel, Ahamove, and Datalogic.

The projects at Saigon South campus spanned a wide range of innovation areas, including AI-powered design tools, smart logistics platforms, robotics systems for manufacturing, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, digital sustainability solutions, and more.  

Many teams collaborated closely with industry partners to ensure that their work addressed real-world needs and could scale beyond the academic context. In the Software Engineering and IT program, the First Place Award went to Digital Meridian for Pictor, an AI-powered generator for brand guidelines and design systems. “It’s inspiring to see how our students bring ideas to life and deliver industry-ready solutions,” said Dr Nguyen Thien Bao, lecturer in IT program and mentor of Digital Meridian.

In the Electronics and Robotics program, the First Place Award was claimed by Unidentified Flying Chickens for SkyWatch, a long-endurance budget UAV. In addition to school awards, several teams received Industry Awards sponsored by partners such as ABB, Drinkizz, Bosch Rexroth, Orlar, NashTech, Viettel, OUCRU, Ahamove, and others, recognising excellence in industry relevance, innovation, and practical application.
