The Business School at RMIT Vietnam, along with other business and management related schools in the College of Business and Law under RMIT University, has become the first business school in Vietnam to earn the prestigious AACSB accreditation.

Founded in 1916, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators, and businesses worldwide.

RMIT’s College of Business and Law (CoBL) is officially AACSB-accredited since July 2025 after a rigorous evaluation process spanning five years. As one of the schools under CoBL, The Business School at RMIT Vietnam will see all its degree programs, including undergraduate, master’s and PhD levels, and staff, receive the AACSB accreditation. The Business School was also visited by the Chair of the AACSB Peer Review Team in March 2025, whose assessment was part of the full audit of CoBL.

AACSB accreditation is a globally recognised standard of excellence for business schools. It signifies a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and high-quality business education. The Business School at RMIT Vietnam has now become part of a group of less than 6 per cent of the world's schools offering business degree programs that hold AACSB business accreditation. This group includes world-leading institutions such as the Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), to name a few.

RMIT Deputy Vice-Chancellor College of Business and Law Professor Colin Picker said the accreditation recognises RMIT’s deep understanding of business and technology.

“AACSB accreditation recognises the incredible work of staff at all levels of the College as we continue to position our deep strength in understanding the intersection of technology and business and law at the forefront of everything we do,” he said.

“We look forward to joining the AACSB community and to contributing our expertise towards the future of business education and research in Australia and internationally.”

Stephanie M. Bryant, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB congratulated RMIT.

“RMIT University’s commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole. Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of RMIT University to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally,” said Ms Bryant.

CoBL was commended by the AACSB for the collaborative, professional, and sophisticated development of its CoBL 31 mission and strategic direction and associated strategy implementation. The additional support for the College's strategy and ambitions by the University through the funding of innovation grants was acknowledged.

The authentic, applied and academic (AAA) learning pedagogy, the synthesised global relationship between RMIT's campuses in Australia and Vietnam, the innovation and uplift of CoBL’s degree programs, and the implementation of new programs and course offerings with technology and social impact were specifically highlighted by the AACSB as placing CoBL at the leading edge of business education.

Professor Robert McClelland, Dean of The Business School at RMIT Vietnam, said, “The AACSB accreditation reflects the collective strength and vision of RMIT’s College of Business and Law across Australia and Vietnam. At The Business School, we’re proud to be part of this achievement and to deliver business education that is globally benchmarked and locally relevant.”
