RMIT Vietnam receives Certificate of Merit from People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recently awarded RMIT University Vietnam a Certificate of Merit on the 20th anniversary of the Management Authority for Southern Area Development (MASD).

On the certificate, the People’s Committee acknowledged RMIT Vietnam for its contribution to the operation and development of MASD.

RMIT Vietnam is the Asian centre of operations for RMIT University (Melbourne). During its 16 years in Vietnam, RMIT Vietnam has achieved success in a number of areas including producing highly sought-after graduates; increasing the rate of PhD qualified academic staff; adopting digital technologies in its operations, research, and teaching and learning; and investing in modern teaching and learning facilities.

The grounds and facilities at its Saigon South campus have continued to grow. Its Beanland Building is currently being refurbished and transformed into a vibrant and sustainable building that provides both students and staff with improved experience, facilities, and technology over the next five years and beyond. The University’s library is expanding to ensure RMIT Vietnam's continued leadership in higher education digital excellence and transformative learning experiences.

RMIT Vietnam offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of business, technology, and design and communication. With 1528 graduates in 2016, the University has now produced more than 11,000 graduates since commencing degree programs in 2001. These graduates – confident, skilled, and qualified – are making a valuable contribution to the domestic and international labour forces.

RMIT Vietnam has won many awards. These include the National Energy Efficiency Building Awards in 2010 and 2016, and the prestigious Vietnam Government-supported Golden Dragon Award fourteen times since 2003.
