RMIT wins sixth Top Trade Services Award

RMIT Vietnam was awarded its sixth Top Trade Services Award for excellence in educational services in a ceremony on Saturday 22 April at the International Convention Centre in Hanoi.

The prestigious award, conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in association with the Newspaper of Industry and Trade, recognises excellence in enterprises across many sectors:  education, business, environment, distribution, finance, information, construction, tourism, entertainment, transportation, and health.

RMIT Vietnam President Professor Gael McDonald said the award was a testament to the University’s values and its commitment to ‘real world’ education.

“RMIT Vietnam is committed to providing high quality education and more choices to Vietnamese students, as well as greater access to internationally oriented Australian university degrees without any need for students to leave Vietnam – and at a much lower cost than going to Australia,” Professor McDonald said.

“RMIT invested in Vietnam out of a belief that we could play a particularly useful role in the country given the stage of economic development it had reached.

“The University’s approach in 2016 was driven by the student experience and an emphasis on program innovation as evidenced by a number of activities including the replacement of hard copy textbooks with multimodal digital learning materials, the investment in a new learning space to build capacity in the use of augmented and virtual realities, and the launch of the Centre of Digital Excellence.”
